Max Kilman names the one Wolves player who’s ‘been fabulous’ recently

Wolves’ season thus far has been far better than many had feared, with one man enjoying a remarkable spell of late.

Progression in the FA Cup for Wolves this season came alongside a victory over bitter Black Country rivals West Brom.

A 2-0 win sees Gary O’Neil‘s side progress to the next round where they’ll be facing fellow Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

In the game, it was goals from both Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha which put Wolves simply a class above their derby foes.

Cunha in particular has been singled for praise given how much he’s now improved since this season began as he now boats a stunning 14 goal contributions (8 goals and 6 assists).

The Brazilian has been immense and now he’s been singled out by his captain for praise ahead of welcoming Manchester United to Molineux on Thursday.

Max Kilman lauds Matheus Cunha

According to Express and Star, Cunha is gaining quite an admirer in his captain Max Kilman, with the centre-half full of praise for the Wolves No.12.

“He’s been fabulous,” the Wolves skipper remarked on Cunha’s explosive season.

“He’s a really nice guy and on the pitch, you can see his character. You could see in the last five or 10 minutes [against West Brom] how he’s tracking back, making slide tackles and winning the ball back.”

Finally, Kilman added once more that he’s delighted with how excellent Cunha has been this season.

“He’s been phenomenal and has really kicked on this season.”

Cunha has looked worth every bit of the £44m that Wolves spent on him this season and he could very well end the season with 20+ goal contributions which is a testament to how good O’Neil has been.

Cunha has been on fire for Wolves

Since November, Cunha has really picked up the mantle as Wolves’ main man, with goals and assists easy to come by.

In his last 14 games, Cunha has managed to score six goals and has assisted five in all competitions.

This return is remarkable and huge credit must go to the manager who has got his front three all above 10 goal contributions, Hwang Hee-Chan has 14 while Neto has 10.
