Max Kilman and Pablo Sarabia among Wolves stars reacting to ‘surreal’ news out of Molineux

Wolves yesterday announced that goalkeeper Tom King had signed a new contract at the club – and this news has gone down well with some of the first-team squad.

After Toti Gomes signed a new deal last week, it has now been confirmed that King has also agreed fresh terms at Molineux.

He’s signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.

King is yet to make his competitive debut for Wolves after signing for the club last summer on a free transfer.

As the number three, his opportunities are limited. But Wolves value the 28-year-old a lot for what he brings to the squad.

Following yesterday’s announcement, some Wolves players sent messages to the popular King on social media…

It is safe to say that, while King hasn’t played for Wolves yet, he has been a really good addition to the squad.

Matt Hobbs said that it is one of the ‘happiest’ contracts he’s given out at the club, and he talked up the star’s ‘intensity in training every day, his work ethic and his personality’.

King made some fantastic comments about adding value to the squad in other ways, and it’s clear he’s a big part of the new culture drive of togetherness.

On Instagram, he marked the moment by writing: “Delighted to be staying until 2027 and hopefully many more years after that. Only just getting started.”

King is a big personality, and it seems he is a very well-liked individual among his teammates, several of whom sent him messages yesterday on social media.

Here are some of those messages:

Tommy Doyle: ‘Get in’

Pablo Sarabia: ‘You deserve it mate’

Dan Bentley: ‘Class mate’

Max Kilman: ‘Fully deserved’

Nelson Semedo: ‘Kinggggg’

Tom King is clearly a big part of things behind the scenes

King may not have played yet for Wolves, but from what Hobbs and the player himself have said, he is clearly an important member of the squad.

You can see from the messages his teammates have sent him that he is highly respected and that this contract is deserved.

It’s a nice moment for him, having spent his career in the Football League prior to this experience with Wolves.

King spoke about the news of his new contract yesterday, describing the moment he found out from goalkeeper coach Neil Cutler that Wolves wanted to extend his deal as ‘surreal’, and you get the sense that he genuinely considers it a privilege to be at Molineux.
