Wolves moved up to eighth in the Premier League table after beating Fulham at Molineux – and it was yet another top performance from Mario Lemina.
Wanderers responded brilliantly to last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United, and dug deep to beat a very good side in Fulham.
Wolves came into the game with injury problems, and there was more bad luck for Gary O’Neil when he lost Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Pedro Neto.
But Wolves showed terrific character and beat Fulham 2-1 in the end, with Rayan Ait-Nouri especially coming in clutch for the home side.
The Algerian is coming in for most of the plaudits but Mario Lemina was outstanding again, and Joao Gomes and Max Kilman’s post-match comments were spot on…
Joao Gomes and Max Kilman laud Mario Lemina after Wolves beat Fulham 2-1

Lemina sums up everything that is good about this current Wolves team.
There is so much spirit and determination in the squad these days, and the Gabon international really is the heartbeat of the team.
Lemina is a midfielder by trade, but he tends to crop up everywhere and that was very much the case yesterday after Wolves lost Bellegarde and Neto.
The 30-year-old found himself on the wings and in the penalty area at times, as he sought to support wherever he could. It is little wonder that he has scored as many goals this term as he has in his five previous seasons combined.
His engine is just ridiculous and after the game, captain Kilman summed his performance up perfectly with a comment he left on Lemina’s Instagram post. He wrote ‘What a midfielder/striker/winger’, and also left a heart eyes emoji.
Joao Gomes, Lemina’s midfield partner, was also left blown away, commenting ‘Amazing’.
What an incredible signing
Lemina’s signing by Wolves for around £10 million didn’t prompt a great deal of fanfare at the time, which is amazing to consider now.
Because he is surely one of the most important signings the club have ever made.
Lemina is absolutely sensational. Week in, week out, he gives everything in that shirt and he pretty much epitomises everything this team has become under Gary O’Neil.
He is the kind of player every team needs, and Wolves are incredibly lucky to have someone like this in their side.
Massive credit must go to everyone who was involved in bringing him to the club. Had he not signed, it is very questionable whether the club would be in the same position they are now.
