Matt Jarvis has been speaking about his former teammate and current Wolves manager Gary O’Neil – and picked out one of his best achievements in his six months at the club.
Wolves fans are on cloud nine with Gary O’Neil at the moment after an amazing start to life at Molineux.
There was chaos last summer when news of the club’s financial problems came to light.
It was a hugely frustrating summer, that culminated in Julen Lopetegui leaving the club just days before the new season.
O’Neil came in as his replacement and a lot of Wolves fans did fear the worst.
But O’Neil has done an extraordinary job – and former Molineux winger Matt Jarvis believes O’Neil got one thing very right early doors…
Matt Jarvis praises Gary O’Neil for getting the Wolves players to buy into him

Jarvis appeared on the Wolves Weekly podcast and gave his thoughts after the club’s latest victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Like so many fans, Jarvis is loving what Wolves are doing this season and it is especially nice for him to see O’Neil doing such a terrific job. Jarvis got to know O’Neil and what he’s all about to West Ham United and Norwich City.
In his eyes, one of the best things O’Neil has done at Wolves is getting the players to buy into him.
He said: “I think he’s been sensational since he’s been there’ The biggest thing for me, is what he’s he’s done with everyone buying into everything he’s trying to do. The first few weeks, everyone was sorted of buying in and then he got a few results and you can then see and the players were like ‘actually, this is great’. They seem to be really enjoying the sessions and the games. They’re all buying into everything he says
“That’s what I mean when you see at the end of the game and they’re all pushing him forward. They’ve got so much respect and admiration for him because they can see how much work he’s doing behind the scenes.”
A very underrated rate part of O’Neil’s time at Wolves
O’Neil deserves enormous credit for what he has done in terms of getting everyone to buy into him.
Purely because of how chaotic things were when he came in, with Lopetegui leaving in the way that he did.
Max Kilman admitted the Spaniard’s departure had caused confusion in the dressing room, and there was definitely potential for things to go south.
But O’Neil has come in and done brilliantly, and you can see the togetherness in the team and the connection between the players and the fans on matchdays.
