Jorgen Strand Larsen is officially a new Wolves player – and Matt Hobbs has shared what Gary O’Neil loves about his newest signing.
The 24-year-old has become the club’s third addition of the summer after Tommy Doyle on a permanent deal and Rodrigo Gomes. Pedro Lima will be officially announced in due course.
Wolves fans are delighted with this capture.
A new striker has been the desire for O’Neil since January, but the desire of the fans for much longer.
Sasa Kalajdzic was meant to be the answer for Wolves, but his rotten luck with injury has put his Molineux future in doubt.
Strand Larsen will now come in and try to hit the ground running as quickly as possible.
Sporting director Matt Hobbs has been speaking about Strand Larsen, and he’s offered a couple of reasons as to why O’Neil wanted the striker.
Gary O’Neil loves that Jorgen Strand Larsen is a willing runner and creates chances for others

We saw last season how O’Neil placed a lot of emphasis on mobility. Not just in possession, but out of it.
He was big on pressing, and the likes of Matheus Cunha, Hwang Hee-chan and Pedro Neto were all excellent at that.
Strand Larsen is also someone that likes to run, and this was one major reason – aside from his goal threat – that O’Neil green-lighted a move for him.
Sporting director Matt Hobbs told the club’s official website: “What Gary [O’Neil] loved about him was not only the fact that he scores goals, but the amount of work and running he does for the rest of the team and the chances he likes to create for other people.
“He probably takes as much satisfaction in what he does for other people than what he does for himself.”
Strand Larsen will be a great fit

So it sounds as though Strand Larsen is a workhorse which will definitely make him a good fit in this Wolves team.
There are plenty in the team already. The likes of Mario Lemina, Joao Gomes, Cunha, Hwang and Neto are all players who will work their socks off for the team.
Having these kinds of players in the team just makes it really difficult for the opposition to try and play out.
It’ll be really interesting to see how he gets on. The stat has just had a great season in La Liga, which is obviously one of the top leagues in Europe, so fans will have high hopes.
