Matt Hobbs has been singing the praises of Toti Gomes, with the club announcing the defender has signed a new long-term contract today.
Wanderers dropped the big news a short while ago, and it is something that many Old Gold supporters are undoubtedly going to welcome.
Toti has been a revelation this season for Wanderers.
Arguably, it was his integration into the starting XI that helped Gary O’Neil turn things around after a tricky start.
O’Neil started him against Manchester City at the end of September and also changed the system to use wing-backs again. Wolves won the game 2-1, and Toti has started every Premier League game since.
Matt Hobbs hails Toti Gomes as defender signs new Wolves contract

Toti has agreed a new deal with Wolves until 2029, putting the club in a very strong position over the player.
The 25-year-old has become a very important squad player at Molineux since coming back to the club in January 2022 from his loan spell at Swiss outfit Grasshoppers.
He has had to be patient at Molineux, but Toti is now playing regularly – and sporting director Hobbs believes that his status as a regular and his new contract is no less than he deserves.
He told the club’s official website: “Toti came to us after spending time at Grasshoppers, and maybe a bit like Max’s journey, he had to wait for his opportunity, but I think what you get is someone who gives absolutely everything and provides different variation. His athleticism has given us real balance across the back.
“He’s a great guy to have around, a really positive person, driven and a full international now. I say it a lot, because they’re the type of people we want to bring in, but he’s great around the place, while still having a huge amount of humility. Even though he’s an international, he’s not finished, he wants to keep going and become a regular. He wants to be the best player he can be every single day, he trains well, and it’s a well-deserved new contract.”
New deal for Toti is so, so deserved
This is simply amazing news and it is little wonder so many fans on social media are pleased.
Barring a few games here and there, Toti has been absolutely brilliant this season for Wolves and he was probably the most deserving player of a new contract in the whole squad.
Toti has had to be very patient at Wolves for a proper run in the team, and he finally got a show of faith from O’Neil earlier this season.
Before becoming a regular, Toti never once complained about his role at Wolves. He simply kept working hard, and did his job when called upon.
We at Molineux News think very highly of Toti, and suggested back in November that Wolves should look to make him the next player to get a new contract after Hwang Hee-chan. It is brilliant to now see him get one.
