Matt Doherty has released a statement pertaining to the concerns from fans following Wolves’ 2-0 defeat to Sunderland.
The mood at Molineux is turning sour, with fans losing trust in Vitor Pereira’s ability to turn things around this season.
Many of those supporters also believe Wolves will beat Derby County’s lowest points record.
However, while the Old Gold faithful do not have much hope at present, the players are still trying to fight their way out of this situation.
Matt Doherty has sent a message to fans addressing the position the Wanderers have found themselves in.

Matt Doherty says Wolves’ performances are not acceptable
In the absence of Toti Gomes, Matt Doherty was given the armband against Sunderland, and the player knows their performances have not been up to scratch so far.
The Old Gold are languishing at the bottom of the Premier League and are on just two points. They are in a relegation fight already.
Overall feelings among fans were clear with the introduction of Fer Lopez and Tolu Arokodare prompting sarcastic cheers.
Then, following the match, a chorus of boos, jeers and expletives were directed at the players.
Speaking up after the game, Doherty addressed the frustration from supporters.
Doherty said via an interview with the Express and Star, “I didn’t quite catch what the reaction was (from the away fans) at the end because it was quite loud in there and you’re quite far away, but if they’re frustrated, we totally understand.
“The position that we’re in right now is not acceptable, and I suppose the performances are probably not acceptable in their eyes either and ours.”
Fans want results not apologies from Wolves players
The words from Matt Doherty will do no good in quelling the fears of fans, who are expecting relegation now.
Supporters do not want to hear the players tell them they will turn things around, and that they are still confident it will be a good season.
They want results.
It could not be simpler, and, at the moment, that is the one thing the Old Gold are not delivering on. When Burnley travel to Molineux, Vitor Pereira has to win.
Anything other than three points would add to what is already looking like a disastrous season. Leeds United struggled against Burnley at the weekend, but the Whites may have shown how to beat the Clarets.
