Wolves have had a nightmare start to the season – but Matt Doherty has offered one reason for fans to remain positive.
It was yet another defeat on Saturday for Wanderers, this time against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Nordi Mukiele opened the scoring for the Black Cats, and then Ladislav Krejci put through his own net in injury-time.
The travelling Wolves fans voiced their anger after the final whistle, and the mood is certainly low right now. And anything other than a win against Burnley this weekend could see things become toxic.
Pereira has described Burnley as a must-win game, so it will be very interesting to see what happens if Wolves lose in poor fashion.
Despite the awful start to the season, Matt Doherty believes there is one key reason why fans shouldn’t lose hope just yet.
Matt Doherty thinks one win will change everything for Wolves as he points to last season

Having taken just two points from eight games, there is certainly reason to be concerned.
At the moment, it feels like that first win genuinely won’t come, with Wolves lacking bite in attack and still conceding too many goals.
But Doherty believes that one win will change everything, and that Wolves showed last season that they can get points on the board once the ball is rolling.
He said (via E&S): “We know we’re a win or two away from going on a potential run.
“I know that’s easy to say now and fans won’t want to hear it or believe it until you get the results, but I suppose the evidence was in last season that once we do get going, we can win games in this league.”

Wolves changed manager to prompt change last season
Wolves did eventually get going last season, but it wasn’t until the sacking of Gary O’Neil that things changed.
O’Neil picked up just nine points from 16 games before getting the chop.
Perhaps that will have to happen again in order for Wolves to steer clear of danger. But Fosun will surely be trying to give Pereira every chance to turn things around, after he was handed a new deal only last month.

If Pereira does go though, fans won’t be confident of a turnaround this time. Because the squad is so much weaker compared to last season, and there are no game-changing players like Matheus Cunha or Rayan Ait-Nouri or Pedro Neto to bail Wolves out.
So while Doherty believes there is still reason for optimism, fans will struggle to feel that right now.
