Wolves lost 2-0 to Brentford – and it was another dreadful day for Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Wolves will be sitting on two points at Christmas, which is the joint lowest tally ever after Sheffield United achieved the same number in the 2020/21 season.
Rob Edwards made it six defeats in six games since taking the job, and some Wolves fans are now starting to question the manager.
Wolves fans, genuinely, how worried are you now about Derby’s 07/08 points record (11)?
The Old Gold have equalled the lowest ever PL points haul at Christmas… 🥴
It is accepted that this is a poor squad, but some feel Edwards has made mistakes and is making questionable decisions.
One such decision is continuing to play Jorgen Strand Larsen while he’s in such poor form.
Strand Larsen angered fans against Brentford with his missed penalty and overall performance, and it really has been a shocking campaign for the Norwegian.
After yesterday’s game, Matt Doherty spoke about Strand Larsen in his post-match interview.
Matt Doherty backs Jorgen Strand Larsen after penalty miss

Strand Larsen prompted fury with his penalty miss against the Bees.
There was just no conviction, and his effort was easily saved by Caoimhín Kelleher.
It really did just sum up the season he’s been having. However, he did come in for some support from Matt Doherty after the game.
He said (via Wolves official): You have to be 100% in this league. Even for myself, carrying a lot of injuries this year as well, you’re just not going to get that many results if you’ve got a few players carrying stuff, but at the moment, we’ve got no choice.
“This is the squad that we have, lads have to play. Jorgen’s a very good striker, he’s obviously suffering, probably from our lack of creativity, but we know how good he can be. We know the goals he can score and he proved that last year in Premier League. The hardest thing to do in the Premier League is score goals, so we know that he’s got it in him.
“Missing the penalty is not the reason why we lost the game at all, so he’s not to take any blame for that, but he’s going to be fine. He’s a good character, he’s a strong character, so he’ll be able to get through this, I’m sure.”
Strand Larsen future now up in the air
Since the comments from Doherty, Strand Larsen has been linked with a move to West Ham United.
They’re looking into landing him on a permanent deal, and it will be fascinating to see if a move ends up happening.
Do you expect JSL to still be a Wolves player by the end of January?
The Norwegian is now wanted by West Ham, amongst others… 👀
Doherty spoke about players leaving in January, suggesting it would be cowardly of players to look to depart.
We will see if Strand Larsen agitates for a mid-season exit.
At this point, given the drop-off, plenty of Wolves fans would like to see it happen. Seemingly though, Doherty more than likely wouldn’t
