Wolves fans are anxiously waiting for an update on the condition of Matheus Cunha, after he went off with an injury against Fulham.
The Brazilian was having one of his best games in a Wanderers shirt, and look good playing with Raul Jimenez.
But in the second-half, he went down under a challenge and received lengthy treatment before being stretchered off.
After the game, Julen Lopetegui confirmed that it was an ankle injury.
A player leaving the field on a stretcher is never a good sign. But Wolves fans are holding out hope that it isn’t as serious as it seemed.
The player had an MRI scan on Sunday. But the club have yet to provide supporters with an update on Cunha’s condition and how long he could be out for.
Should it be a lengthy spell on the sidelines, then that would be a bitter pill to swallow.
He was brought in in January with the hope of helping Wolves with their goalscoring issues.
So far he is yet to find the back of the net, and it may be that he’ll not be scoring for a while yet.
Matheus Cunha shares wholesome Instagram video, as Wolves fans await official update
Earlier today, Cunha took to Instagram to share a sweet video clip. It was initially shared by the star’s partner Gabriela Nogueira.
It shows their young son putting a plaster on Cunha’s injured ankle, and has the caption ‘agora papai fica bom rapidinho’, which translates to ‘now daddy gets well soon’.
There is no sign of any protective boot. Although it’s possible he might have one, but just took it off to record this video.
Hopefully, the club will soon put supporters out of their misery with an official update on the player.
