Wolves came up just short in their latest Premier League game against Liverpool, despite a wonderful goal from Matheus Cunha.
Wolves had the chance to go five points clear of the relegation zone, but were beaten 2-1 at Anfield.
Getting a result was always going to be tough.
But Wolves applied themselves well against the Premier League table-toppers, and were very unlucky in the end.
Luis Diaz and Mo Salah got the goals for Liverpool, with Matheus Cunha scoring for Wolves in the second-half to set up a nervy finish for Liverpool.
There were a few contentious decisions in the game, including the call by Simon Hooper award a penalty for a foul on Diaz by Jose Sa.
Jamie Redknapp and Jermain Defoe disagreed over the Liverpool penalty incident, and it will certainly be a talking point in the coming days.
After the game, Cunha took to social media to send a message to fans.
Matheus Cunha sends message to Wolves fans after Liverpool defeat

Liverpool didn’t have a single shot in the second-half, which is something that hasn’t happened in the Premier League at Anfield since 2003/04.
That just shows how well Wolves played in the second-half.
Vitor Pereira’s men can be proud of themselves.
Not many other teams will go to Anfield this season and have the hosts on the back foot like Wolves did.
Ultimately, there just wasn’t enough of a cutting edge, although Cunha once again provided a moment of real quality.
His strike from the edge of the box on his left foot was a sight to behold, and the star has taken to Instagram to send a message that most fans would probably agree with.
He said: “We gave our all! ⚽️🐺”
Cunha form a major positive for Wolves
So Wolves came up just short at Anfield, but there were lots of positives to take from the defeat.
Cunha’s goal was something special.

To shift the ball like that onto his weak foot and lash it into the bottom corner from outside the area was seriously impressive, and not something you’d really see from any other Wolves player.
It was just a reminder of his amazing quality, and it’s good that he’s managed to get back amongst the goals since signing his new contract.
He just needs to stay fit. If he can do that, Wolves will stand a great chance of staying up.
