Matheus Cunha scored a huge goal for Wolves as they clinched a late draw against Brighton last weekend, and the Brazilian has now commentated on the moment.
Wolves looked down and out when Evan Ferguson scored in the 85th minute to put Brighton 2-0 ahead but an inspired comeback thanks to goals from Rayan Ait-Nouri and Cunha salvaged a vital point.
Cunha has been Gary O’Neil’s most important player this term, with the 25-year-old netting four goals in his first nine Premier League games.
Wolves have been given a 22.2% chance of survival in 2024/25 and most of those hopes fall at the feet of the Brazilian forward, who has now commentated on his latest big moment in gold.

Matheus Cunha’s ‘unbelievable’ Brighton vs Wolves commentary
Cunha’s strike late on in the game could have huge implications in the coming weeks for the Wanderers.
A defeat in that match against Brighton was expected after going two-nil down however, to rescue a point from a position of no return was impressive.
In what could turn out to be a big goal in their season, Cunha has since produced some iconic commentary for the Premier League’s social media pages.
From Tommy Doyle’s vital interception to stop a four vs one situation to his deflected finish past the Seagulls’ keeper, Cunha said: “Four against one, unbelievable. There’s a chance for Brighton, Tommy [Doyle] did unbelievably well, gets the ball and puts them on the front.
“It’s Cunha, Cunha has the ball now, it’s your last chance for the club, pass. No, no, you shot, ohhhh unbelievable, unbelievable, 2-2, what a game, what a celebration. Everything is good.”

Cunha can keep Wolves in the Premier League
This weekend, the Old Gold host Crystal Palace in a massive six-pointer at the bottom of the Premier League, with Paul Merson predicting Wolves to beat the Eagles.
With a winnable fixture list on the horizon, there’s a chance for the Wanderers to get some much-needed wins on the board, although O’Neil frustratingly doesn’t think Wolves have entered must-win territory despite sitting four points from safety.

Regardless of the above comments by O’Neil, he should be targeting at least a couple of wins from the next four, and Cunha can play a vital role in any success they have.
The Brazilian sharpshooter is the club’s most invaluable asset and keeping him fit gives them every chance of surviving, as he can produce a moment of magic from nothing.
Cunha’s statistics this term also reinforce that claim, as he ranks in the top 1% of Premier League forwards for non-penalty goals, the top 3% for shots per 90, and the top 5% for successful take-ons.
Cunha’s 24/25 Premier League stats | Number per 90 | Percentile |

---|---|---|
Shots Total | 3.44 | Top 3% |

Hopefully, the next commentary Cunha does is on his winning goal against Crystal Palace this weekend.
