Matheus Cunha is the name on every Wolves fan’s lips at the moment after he netted two goals and picked up an assist in a phenomenal 4-1 away win against Fulham.
The attacker’s inspired performance led Gary O’Neil’s side to one of their greatest comebacks in recent times as the club bounced back from 1-0 down to win 4-1 at Craven Cottage.
Cunha was the centre-piece of the performance as he utterly dominated the capital side from start to finish.
First off, Cunha’s opening goal was like prime Dennis Bergkamp as he chipped the Fulham ‘keeper to equalise.
Following this, he then set up Joao Gomes to put the visitors in front before he netted a sensational wondergoal to bag his second of the night.
As a result, he is now just the second Wolves player in history to hit one Premier League landmark with the club.
Matheus Cunha becomes the second Wolves player in history to hit 20+ goals and 10+ assists in the Premier League

Thanks to Cunha’s performance, he has now improved his record once again this season.
As it stands, the Brazilian has hit seven goals as well as collected three assists in just 12 Premier League matches this campaign.
Overall, has now scored 21 times for Wolves in the Premier League while also providing 10 assists.
The only other player to achieve this so far for the Old Gold is Raul Jimenez who achieved 40 goals and 14 assists for the club in the top flight.
Cunha has also moved up to third in Wolves’ all-time Premier League top scorers. He is one goal off second-place which Steven Fletcher occupies with 22 goals.

Matheus Cunha could be Wolves’ first £100 million player

It is far to say that Cunha is by far Wolves’ best player at the moment. The attacker is a genius on the ball and can create a goal out of nothing.
Regardless if Wolves do stay up or go down, plenty of top clubs will no doubt be pursuing the Brazilian if he keeps up this run of form.
However, if the club do stay in the Premier League, they could definitely demand a big fee.
Cunha is clearly happy at Wolves at the moment and is in the form of his career. The Old Gold also have him tied down for a reasonable amount of time, with his contract set to expire in 2027.
Therefore, given the previous sales of Pedro Neto and Ruben Neves, Cunha would likely smash the record books if he did leave Wolves in the near future.
