Marshall Munetsi suggests £16m Wolves player is someone every top team needs

Wolves enjoyed a productive transfer deadline day in the end, with two new players arriving at Molineux.

Vitor Pereira had hoped that new faces would come, and the Portuguese did get his wish in the end, to the tune of a new centre-back and a new midfielder.

One of those players was Marshall Munetsi, who arrived at Wolves from Reims.

Marshall Munetsi is effectively the replacement for Mario Lemina, whose move to Galatasaray should be announced fairly soon.

Munetsi could potentially be in line to make his debut for Wolves in the FA Cup game with Blackburn Rovers this weekend, and is excited to get going at the club.

Upon joining, he said Wolves were a team he’s watched from afar, and he also heaped praise on one player already.

Munetsi was the second player Wolves brought in from Reims in the January transfer window, with Emmanuel Agbadou arriving first a few weeks go.

Wolves paid just over £16 million (BBC Sport) to sign Agbadou and so far, fans have been very impressed.

The backline really needed bolstering, and Agbadou has made a solid impact so far.

Munetsi, of course, knows all about Agbadou’s quality having already played with him – and the midfielder praised the defender in his first interview with the club, suggesting he’s a player all top teams could do with.

He said (via Wolves official): “As Wolves have seen so far, what he provides for the team, the impact that he has, the energy, the strength, the physique, it’s something that you need in in every top team.

“So, besides that, also he’s a very good friend of mine. We’ve been very good friends for the past three years. So, I’m also looking forward to that.”

Agbadou already looks a steal at £16m

Munetsi seems to rate Agbadou quite highly – and Wolves fans are already starting to feel the same way about the Ivorian.

Wolves’ backline has been crying out for new players since early on in the season and in recent weeks, Agbadou has made a big impact.

He’s mainly played on the left side so far, but still impressed regardless.

Against Aston Villa, he shifted into the middle to accommodate Toti Gomes, which seemed to really suit him.

In terms of actual defending, Agbadou is very impressive and that £16 million transfer fee is already looking like great business.
