Marshall Munetsi was signed by Wolves on transfer deadline day, and since then, the Zimbabwe international has embodied everything brilliant about the club’s improvement.
Wolves 2-1 win over Ipswich was their third on the spin and during that period, Vitor Pereira has watched Marshall Munetsi become a starring influence.
The 28-year-old’s incredible work rate and engine have been second to none, with Munetsi often covering for Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is afforded the chance to drive forward.
As an attacking midfield outlet, the Zimbabwe star has also shown excellent strength and movement off the ball to open up opportunities for his teammates.
Jorgen Strand Larsen has hailed Munetsi, suggesting he’s been key to his remarkable form, with the star himself now praising Pereira.

What Vitor Pereira loves about Marshall Munetsi
Since becoming Wolves manager in December, Pereira’s man management has arguably been his most important trait, getting the best out of his players.
The 56-year-old has made the tough decisions, notably leaving Mario Lemina out of the squad after he refused to play and freezing Craig Dawson out of the picture.
But the Portuguese tactician also gives his players the confidence to express themselves on the field, and Munetsi is someone who has benefitted.
“The first thing we appreciate as a player is a coach that gives you the idea of his game plan his philosophy,” Munetsi told the E&S.
“He presents it to you in a way that is simple and you can understand you can fit in very well.
“He also gives you the confidence. I remember the first game that I had and I didn’t manage to score and he came to me and said ‘what I love about you is that you’re getting into the right positions, don’t hesitate, next time go in again, keep on trying.”
Munetsi on needing to improve his finishing
Pereira was the first one to encourage Munetsi to keep going when he missed a few gilt-edged chances, and he’s recognised that improving his finishing is the final piece of the puzzle.
“When you hear something like that from a coach it gives you the confidence to know that he’s trusting me, he knows that I’m working hard to be in this position but the final piece is missing,” he added.
“He’s a person who gives you the identity of the club and he also makes you feel like he’s a father that you can be able to talk to and you can be able to work for him.”
Munetsi scored against Everton in March, getting his name on the scoresheet for the very first time but the above comment suggest there is more to come from the midfielder.
