One new Wolves signing has stood out to midfielder Marshall Munetsi.
Wolves’ opener against Brighton will go down as an own-goal, but Marshall Munetsi deserves all the plaudits.
His powerful strike left Bart Verbruggen helpless to prevent a rebound into his own net, and gave Wolves an early lead.

Munetsi has thrived in a midfield three in recent games, as Pereira takes a different tactical approach. But the Zimbabwean national is just one of the reasons for Wolves’ upturn in form.
Following the game, Munetsi singled out a new signing who has become a vital cog in Pereira’s side.
Marshall Munetsi hails Ladislav Krejci’s impact
Wolves’ largest piece of incoming business this summer was to sign Czech defender Ladislav Krejci from Girona.
Pereira has sung Krejci’s praises on numerous occasions this season. Wolves’ Player of the Month for September has adjusted quickly to life at Molineux and already looks indispensable as an option for both the back line and the midfield.
Speaking after the game (via Wolves website), Munetsi highlighted the new signing’s importance: “Krejci has been very, very crucial for us at the back, so I think it’s only a matter of time until we start winning and winning gives confidence.”

It’s been a real source of encouragement seeing Krejci settle in so quickly at Wolves. He has already bettered Wolves in a problem area, with the defence looking far more composed since the Czech’s arrival.
Munetsi was right to single him out.
Wolves’ first Premier League win is coming
It’s a bittersweet feeling after these two draws. On one hand, not losing is brilliant for morale and shows that Wolves can still compete at this level, but on the other hand, dropping points to late goals is extremely frustrating.
But Munetsi is confident Wolves can go a step further. He remarks: “It’s not too far away. I think if we check the last two games, we have been pushing very hard.”
The international break will see many players leave the camp at Molineux, but Pereira needs to do everything he can to maintain the positive mood and momentum so that they can pick up where they left off in a couple of weeks.
Wolves are entering a make-or-break period of their season, and the form of both Munetsi and Krejci will be, as he said, crucial to their winning prospects.
