Wolves announced the signing of midfielder Marshall Munetsi on deadline day, a capture that pleased many.
After Vitor Pereira pleaded for multiple midfielders in the January transfer window, the Wolves manager was handed Munetsi.
The Zimbabwean was signed from Stade Reims after an impressive rise in France having only made the switch to European football from South Africa in 2019.
Now a Wolves player, Munetsi admitted that the transfer was a dream for him, trading Ligue 1 for the Premier League.

Marshall Munetsi reveals the two Wolves players who welcomed him
Sporting director Matt Hobbs has high hopes for Munetsi in the English top flight, identifying the qualities that the midfielder has.
Hobbs said that the 28-year-old is ‘physically up for the challenge’ in the Premier League, applauding the signing after completing the deal late on deadline day.
Like every player who arrives from abroad to England, the midfielder will have to pass the Premier League test having perfected his craft in Ligue 1, where he shone bright at Stade Reims.
Munetsi played alongside Emmanuel Agbadou at Reims, already having a close relationship with a member of the Wolves squad but, the Ivorian isn’t the only one with ties to the new signing.
Being a Zimbabwe international, Munetsi is close to fellow Wolf Tawanda Chirewa, with the new arrival sharing how the 21-year-old reacted to his transfer.
“Tawanda messaged me as soon as he saw the news, he was so excited that now he was going to have his big brother there,” Munetsi said on the Wolves Express podcast.
The midfielder admitted that he had a similar welcome from former Reims teammate Agbadou.
“Agba did the same, when he first came here I was also one to welcome him so now it’s his turn to welcome me.”
Chirewa will hope he can play alongside Munetsi
After a breakthrough in the 2023/24 campaign, Chirewa was backed to stay at Wolves for the new season but, that was not the case.
For the first half of the 2024/25 calendar, the 21-year-old embarked on a loan spell in the Championship with Derby County.
Chirewa’s time at Derby didn’t go to plan, paving the way to his Wolves return and, a deadline-day transfer to Huddersfield Town.
Now in League One, the Zimbabwean has the chance to show his worth before he returns to Wolves in the summer, where he will be desperate to make an impression in order to play with his international teammate.
