Mario Lemina seen walking without limp after Leicester defeat after going off injured

Wolves midfielder Mario Lemina was reportedly seen ‘walking fine and without a limp’ after yesterday’s defeat to Leicester City.

Wanderers slipped to a 2-1 defeat at the King Power Stadium on what was a disappointing day at the office.

Wolves got off to a great start, with Matheus Cunha firing the visitors ahead.

But a rash decision by Jose Sa to challenge Jamie Vardy resulted in a penalty for Leicester. Kelechi Iheanacho dispatched.

In the second-half, Wolves were unable to dominate as they had after going a goal up.

And it was Leicester who would find the winner, with Timothy Castagne converting Victor Kristiansen’s cross.

It was a poor second-half display from Wolves, and one that was miles away from what they showed in the first-half.

Arguably, one of the major reasons Wolves struggled after the penalty was because Lemina went off injured.

The £10 million star was taken off at half-time, with captain Ruben Neves replacing him.

He has been a vital player for Wolves and his combativeness and energy were really missed. It was largely thanks to him that Wolves were able to take the lead. He won the ball high for Cunha to score.

Julen Lopetegui said after the game that Lemina has suffered a hamstring injury, which is a worry. He will now be assessed.

But journalist Liam Keen did deliver an encouraging update after the game.

He wrote on Twitter: “Lemina has been spotted walking fine and without a limp after the game, which may offer some hope, but it’s still difficult to determine the severity of the injury until he’s assessed.”

Hopefully Lemina’s injury is not too serious.

The Gabon international has become an absolutely vital player for Wolves since he arrived at the club.

His tenacity and athleticism make Wolves a much better side, and it was no coincidence that Wanderers were far worse after he had gone off against Leicester.

Wolves’ next game is against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night so Lemina may struggle to be available.

But hopefully he won’t be missing a chunk of Wolves’ remaining games this season.
