Mario Lemina posted on social media to thank fans, after Wolves beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the Premier League.
The club have moved up to 13th in the table, with Adama Traore the match-winner yesterday.
The Spaniard struck in the closing stages at Molineux.
He converted brilliantly after Raul Jimenez saw a shot saved by Fraser Forster.
Wolves struggled to get a foothold in the first-half. But Julen Lopetegui worked his magic at half-time, changing the shape and bringing on Traore and Nathan Collins.
The tactical switch-up allowed Wolves to have more control, and it resulted in the team having eight attempts in the second-half, as opposed to zero in the first.
It was a bold move from Lopetegui. But it was one he felt was needed to try and increase the goal threat.
The manager sacrificed Lemina at the break, which was something of a surprise given how good he was.
Lemina had done a brilliant job in man-marking Harry Kane.
He kept the England captain quiet and was just solid in the game, as he has been since the moment he arrived at the club.
He was superb, and it was just one of those things that he had to come off when he did.
Mario Lemina posts on social media after excellent first-half display against Tottenham
Lemina sent a message on social media after yesterday’s win over Spurs.
The Gabon international wrote: “Today, I gave everything in the first half. WHAT A TEAM. What a mental strength. I love all of you guys. Fans, thank you for the second breath that you gave to the team. Incredible atmosphere
Wolves. Special mention for @adamatrd37 goal. #Wolves #L5MINA.”
Nelson Semedo also commented ‘La Force’, which translated means ‘strength’. That is undoubtedly one of the staples of Lemina’s game.
Lemina certainly did give everything when he was on.
To nullify one of the world’s best strikers is a testament to what a fantastic player Lemina is.
It is amazing to think Wolves picked him up for just under £10 million in January. He is without doubt one of the bargains of the season.
