Many Wolves fans are absolutely baffled that Gary O’Neil remains in charge at Molineux.
The club have lost their last three games in the Premier League and the situation is now starting to look pretty alarming.
Wolves have taken just nine points from their 15 Premier League games so far, and have conceded a whopping 38 goals.
Wolves lost to West Ham United last time out and many assumed that would be it for the manager. But O’Neil is set to be given the Ipswich Town game this week, and he could even get future fixtures.
Seemingly, Wolves have been having trouble convincing potential replacements to take the job. The club have been speaking to candidates, but have not yet made a change despite immense pressure from fans.
One report has claimed Wolves have sounded out five candidates to replace O’Neil – and one is known quite well to captain Mario Lemina.

What Mario Lemina said about Max Allegri amid claim Wolves eyed Italian coach
It was suggested in a report this morning that Wolves sounded out five potential replacements for O’Neil as manager.
They were Graham Potter, David Moyes, Sergio Conceicao, Niko Kovac and, amazingly, Max Allegri.
The links to Allegri have certainly given some Wolves fans a laugh today.
This is a man who won Serie A five times with Juventus, and he also won a further seven domestic cups with the Old Lady.
Allegri has been out of work since May of this year, with Juventus sacking him after an unsavoury incident following the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta.
Interestingly, he’s a manager Mario Lemina already knows a thing of two about, with the current Wolves captain having spent two campaigns under him from 2015 to 2017.
Lemina rated Allegri highly at the time, believing him to be a potentially good replacement for Arsene Wenger for Arsenal in 2018. He said (via Sky Sports): “He would give something special to the Premier League, like Pep Guardiola and (Antonio) Conte did as well.
“Because he’s Italian, he’ll give something special because he will be more tactical and more crucial with the last part of the pitch. I think he would be very good for Arsenal if he goes.”
Wolves board were kidding themselves over Allegri
It was reported that the managers Wolves sounded out during the November international break, including Allegri, were all not interested in the job.
And many Wolves fans will ask, ‘Who can blame them?’
O’Neil has really struggled this season and it’s inevitable he’ll eventually lose his job. But he has not been help by the way the club is run.

And it’s for that reason why Wolves are now having real trouble selling their project to a potential new manager.
The reality is, no manager wants to walk into a mess like Wolves and potentially risk having a relegation on their CV next year.
It is laughable to think Wolves sounded out Allegri as a potential replacement for O’Neil, as if someone with that kind of pedigree would be interested.
