Mario Lemina brands one Wolves player ‘class’ after Burnley win

Wolves returned to winning ways against Burnley on Tuesday night, despite not playing particularly well.

Gary O’Neil was looking for a response following the defeats to Fulham and Arsenal, and he got one at Molineux with Hwang Hee-chan scoring the game’s only goal.

Wolves struggled throughout, with Burnley proving difficult to break down.

But there was one big chance in the first-half and Wolves made it count.

Hwang finished really well after good pressing by Mario Lemina, with the South Korean now up to eight Premier League goals this season.

Just moments before he scored though, there was a very big moment involving another Wolves player…

Wolves almost fell behind at Molineux when Joao Gomes was robbed of the ball down near the corner flag.

Burnley worked it across and Jay Rodriguez was denied by Dan Bentley from close range.

The ball then dropped to Josh Brownhill on the edge of the box and the midfielder volleyed first time, looking to catch Bentley out.

But Bentley got to his feet very quickly and then got back down to tip Brownhill’s effort just wide.

It was a superb bit of goalkeeping from the Molineux number two – had either of those shots gone in then it would have been a totally different game.

£10,000-a-week man Bentley has come in for a lot of praise since the game and rightly so, and Lemina probably summed it up best with his one-word message to the 30-year-old on Instagram: “Class.”

Bentley did starting prospects no harm in Burnley win

Bentley’s double save was massive for Wolves. If the team concedes there, then it is a completely different game, and one that could very easily have been lost.

Before the match, Wolves had not beaten Burnley in the previous seven meetings and so, going behind would potentially have been a very bad scenario.

So Bentley’s deserves a lot of praise for his efforts, and he definitely didn’t do his starting prospects any harm.

Jose Sa should be back fit again for Saturday’s game with Nottingham Forest, so it will be interesting to see if O’Neil brings his number one back in or shows loyalty to Bentley.
