Fulham boss Marco Silva has singled out two Wolves players he rates highly ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash.
Wolves travel to Craven Cottage on Saturday for a battle of 17th vs 20th. It’s sure to be a tightly contested affair, with both teams desperate for a win after a run of losses.
Ahead of the game, Vitor Pereira faced suggestions that his time at Wolves is ending, and he will understand that those murmurings will only get louder if his side loses against Fulham.
His counterpart, Silva, is also under a bit of pressure, but his focus is firmly on Wolves, and two players in particular who he thinks are a cut above.

Marco Silva heaps praise on Andre and Joao Gomes
When people use the word ‘quality’ talking about Wolves players, more often than not, the Brazilian midfield duo of Andre and Joao Gomes get a mention.
Since forming their pairing last season, they have been mainstays in the side. Andre and Gomes have attracted plenty of European interest as a result of their displays for the Old Gold.
When asked about the strengths of his upcoming opposition, Silva made sure to mention them by name.
As seen on Fulham’s website, he said: “They have good strikers and players around the strikers as well. Of course, good midfielders on the ball when you talk about Gomes and Andre.
“You know what they can do on the ball, always, to provide for the offensive part of the pitch. They have the quality, of course, but when you don’t achieve the results on the pitch, it looks different.”
Indeed, the results haven’t quite been there, and Gomes and Andre aren’t immune from blame. But that also doesn’t take away from their talent.
Silva says table not a reflection of Wolves quality
Silva was asked about potential complacency coming into a game against the bottom-placed side in the league.
Wolves demolished Fulham 4-1 at Craven Cottage last season, so there’s little chance of Silva taking his eye off the ball. He thinks it’s too early to look at the Premier League table.
He responds: “Starting in November, sometimes the table doesn’t show everything to you about the quality of the sides. Bad start, you lose some confidence. Bright start, and teams have a lot of confidence, and football sometimes is about that.”

While he was answering a Wolves-related question, these are the words he will be feeding to his own players as well. Fulham haven’t continued their momentum from last season, and their quality isn’t that of a side flirting with relegation.
