Many Wolves fans will just love what Craig Dawson has said

Wolves are gearing up to face Coventry City this weekend in the FA Cup quarter-final – and Craig Dawson has been speaking about the recent win over West Bromwich Albion in the competition.

Gary O’Neil is looking to keep the momentum going by defeating the Championship outfit at Molineux to reach a first FA Cup semi-final for five years.

Wolves beat Brighton 1-0 at Molineux to reach this point, with Mario Lemina scoring inside two minutes.

Before that though, Wanderers beat bitter rivals 2-0 West Brom at the Hawthorns, which remains the most satisfying result of the season – and Craig Dawson was certainly delighted with that particular result…

Wolves have had plenty of amazing results this season in the Premier League, but the 2-0 win over West Brom might well just top them all.

It was certainly the most satisfying.

There was a big performance that day from Dawson at the back against his former club, with him, Max Kilman and Toti Gomes equal to everything Albion tried.

Dawson, who was still painted on the walls inside the Hawthorns much to the amusement of Jose Sa, has been speaking about the FA Cup ahead of Saturday’s match – and he talked about that recent win over West Brom.

He told Wolves’ official website: “I’ve really enjoyed the FA Cup this year. We had a tough game at Brentford and then the joy of winning the game against West Brom, which was lovely, really good. It was great to go to the Hawthorns in a gold shirt and win – I really enjoyed it.”

Dawson is a wolf

It’s great to hear Dawson really enjoyed beating West Brom.

The £3 million man spent nine years there which is obviously a long time and so, he probably didn’t really have to say anything about Wolves’ 2-0 win.

But clearly he’s very happy to admit he loved beating his old club, cementing his status as a wolf. Not that it was ever in question.

Dawson missed Wolves’ last game against Fulham with a groin injury so it remains to be seen if he’ll be available to face Coventry. Gary O’Neil will surely want to start him if he can, but if he can’t then Santi Bueno will likely keep his place after impressing against the Cottagers.
