Wolves are adapting to life without Matheus Cunha after the Brazilian joined Manchester United.
It was a blow for Wolves to lose Cunha, who is one of the best players to ever pull on the Old Gold.
Unfortunately, the 26-year-old left in rather underwhelming circumstances, as his transfer was expected for months leading up to his exit.
Cunha expressed his desire to leave Wolves in March during the 2024/25 season, which left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans who were unhappy with how the forward conducted himself.

Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Amorim share Matheus Cunha verdict
Vitor Pereira knew Cunha wanted to leave, giving Wolves no option but to grant the player’s wishes, inserting a release clause into his contract.
It didn’t take long for the Brazil international to be snapped up, as Manchester United paid the £62.5m fee to lure him to Old Trafford.
Cunha admitted it was a dream to join Man United, leaving Wolves for the Red Devils after two and a half years at Molineux.
So far, Pereira’s former maverick has played two games for his new club, one of which was a win over West Ham that was played in the early hours of Sunday morning.
After United’s 2-1 win, Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Amorim spoke to NBC Sports, where Cunha was mentioned heavily.
Interestingly, the pair said the same thing about the former Wolves star, giving an insight into what it’s like to have Cunha in the dressing room.
“He’s really loud in the dressing room. He’s Brazilian. So I love that on him,” Amorim said, while Fernandes almost echoed his manager’s opinion.
“We know most of the Brazilians are very loud and happy! He’s a very funny guy. He’s settled quickly with everyone.”
The feedback will come as no surprise, as Cunha was a heavily influential figure at Wolves, both on and off the pitch.
Cunha says he ‘needed to be at’ Man United
It’s such a shame about how things ended for Cunha in the West Midlands.
Though it was only a matter of time before the Brazilian moved on from Wolves, the way he conducted himself was disruptive and unpleasant, particularly for supporters.
Wolves fans lost a lot of trust in Cunha after he went public with his goal to secure a summer transfer away from Molineux, a move that he’s since described as something he ‘needed’.
Speaking to Manchester United’s official website while on pre-season duty, Cunha doubled down on his decision to leave Wolves.
“It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world, and when Ruben came to me and showed me the project, I felt like it’s a challenge I want to do for my career.
“United is a club I needed to be at, and like I say it’s a big privilege.”
Cunha is now a thing of the past for Wolves, who will be desperate to move on seamlessly from their former star player, but it won’t be easy.
