Wolves have been transformed on the pitch under Vitor Pereira, rising to 13th position, but improvements off the field have also dominated the headlines.
Not only are the Old Gold being linked to an abundance of big names, with Wolves eyeing Harvey Elliott from Liverpool, they’re also looking to retain their best players.
Of course, Matheus Cunha is set to join Manchester United, but Wolves gave a new contract to Joao Gomes, ending any speculation of him departing, while promising centre-back Yerson Mosquera also signed a long-term deal.
After Pereira warned Fosun of selling the club’s best players, it appears the owners listened, with the Wanderers also hopeful that Nelson Semedo signs a new contract.
He isn’t the only one currently in negotiations over fresh terms, though, with one other star talent entering talks.

Wolves want to offer Rayan Ait-Nouri a new contract
Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri is enjoying an incredible campaign at Molineux, seeing his involvement become even greater under Pereira.
The 23-year-old is arguably the best wing-back in the Premier League currently, with Micah Richards hailing Ait-Nouri as ‘sensational’ during their defeat against Manchester City.
In 2024/25, the Algerian also has the most goal involvements of any full-back in the division with 11, beating the likes of Antonee Robinson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
So, it wasn’t a surprise to see Troy Deeney suggest Ait-Nouri was ‘playing for a move’ away from Wolves amid previous links to Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea.
New – #Wolves to offer £50m rated Rayan Ait-Nouri a new contract. Big part of Vitor Pereira’s plans for next season. Liverpool have watched him frequently but Milos Kerkez is No 1 target in the position https://t.co/fvCV8mfj6g

However, much to the delight of the Old Gold, the Telegraph’s John Percy has revealed that Wolves are set to offer the fleet-footed wing-back a new contract to warn off interest.
It isn’t said whether the £50m-rated Ait-Nouri would accept any proposal that is made, although it is stated that the club are hopeful an agreement can be reached before pre-season.
Wolves set to trigger Ait-Nouri’s £9m buyout clause
When Wolves signed the talented defender from Angers SC for just £10 million in July 2021, an intriguing clause was placed in his contract.
As many are aware, Wolves have to pay Angers £9 million to avoid them receiving 50% of the sell-on clause if he is sold.
The report claims that the club will choose to trigger that option as a formality before any transfer is complete, protecting themselves smartly if the worst-case scenario unfolds.
Realistically, Wolves would rather pay £9 million and pocket the whole of his future fee, instead of needing to send the French side 50%.
