Wolves failed to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals after suffering defeat away to Bournemouth.
The Old Gold traveled south to take on the Cherries for the second time in as many weeks after beating them 1-0 in the Premier League last weekend.
Vitor Pereira couldn’t mastermind another victory though. The Old Gold were beaten on penalties, and for one player, Saturday’s cup game was bitter-sweet.

Matheus Cunha apologises for FA Cup red card
After Evanilson opened the scoring in the first half, Matheus Cunha was again Wolves’ hero. The Brazilian scored a stunning goal from long range at the hour mark.
The in-form striker ended up having a game to forget though, and went from hero to zero after being shown a straight red for violently clashing with Milos Kerkez deep into extra time. Cunha’s dismissal cost Wolves, and the forward, as a result, has apologised.
“In the end, another game where you guys did your best. I couldn’t lose my head at the end. Sorry,” he posted on his Instagram story at approximately 8 p.m. GMT on Saturday accompanied by a photo of his teammates.

No hard feelings
Pereira revealed Cunha had been carrying a hamstring injury for the past three weeks. In that time, he has won points by himself.
Even though he made a poor decision today, Cunha, who will miss Wolves’ next three matches, has been the Old Gold’s best player all season.
So, while his manager won’t want to see a repeat of Saturday’s behaviour, he will know how important it is to get his number 10 refocused in time for a crucial run-in.
