Wolves are still licking their wounds from Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Molineux.
Wolves lost for the fifth time this season in the Premier League, against a Reds side who have gone top of the league with the win.
It was a decent effort from Wolves, but ultimately there just wasn’t enough urgency or invention at the end.
It was not a game many fans really expected any points from. But there has been frustration at Wolves letting Liverpool back in so quickly after getting the equaliser.
After Saturday’s game, Arne Slot was complimentary of Wolves and said that the club did not deserve to be bottom.
Now, their captain Virgil van Dijk has also had some positive things to say about Wolves.
Virgil van Dijk says Wolves have to ‘keep going’ after Liverpool’s win at Molineux

Wolves are slightly unlucky to be bottom with just one point after six games.
There have undoubtedly been positive periods in games for the team, and some good football as been played at times.
However, there have simply been too many mistakes.
And arguably, the approach has been wrong when Wolves have been in positions to take points.
Wolves fans are obviously concerned at the moment. But for Virgil van Dijk, Wolves’ position in the table may not be a true reflection of how things have gone.
The Dutchman is quoted by The Athletic as saying: “They’ve had a difficult start to the season but they have had some unlucky games where they could have got a result and didn’t, but they have to keep going.”
After Saturday’s game, Wolves captain Mario Lemina cut a dejected figure and was very emotional.
Lemina and van Dijk actually used to be teammates a Southampton years ago, and van Dijk also had some words for the Gabon international.
“He works very hard and he’s the captain and he wants good results for the club. He puts a lot of fight into the game,” he added.
“I just wanted to shake his hand like I do with all the players but I have a bit more history with him.”

We are now approaching a very important period for the club.
Potentially, Wolves are around where many people expected them to be, after the release of the fixture list.
There has been disappointment though with the way Wolves have been in good positions to either win or draw games, and then not done so.
It is now time for Wolves to start getting points on the board, starting at Brentford this weekend.
It is a game Gary O’Neil really, really needs to win, and it’s one fans are expecting to win, especially because of how many injuries the Bees currently have.
Another defeat at the Gtech Community Stadium would be very concerning.
