Conor Coady was a fantastic player and captain for Wolves, and journalist Liam Keen believes the club could do with someone like him now.
The former Old Gold defender is still a big fan of the club and was at Wednesday night’s game against Chelsea with his kids, who have grown up supporting the club.
Coady was named captain of the club following promotion to the Premier League, and to say anything other than that he excelled in the role would be a disservice to the player.
With the former Wanderer at Molineux, Keen was able to catch up with him, and it brought him to a conclusion about the current Wolves squad.
Liam Keen says Wolves need to bring in someone similar to Conor Coady

Wolves are in desperate need of a vocal presence among the squad, as there is no clear leader at the football club.
Nelson Semedo left the club in the summer, and that has been a major miss for the Old Gold.
The fullback was likened to Conor Coady in terms of leadership, and that is the closest they have come to someone like the Englishman.
Now, that void has yet to be filled, and Liam Keen believes it must be addressed in the upcoming months.
Speaking on the Express and Star podcast, Keen said, “Have Wolves ever had someone like him since [Conor Coady]? You can question certain things on the pitch, and he got some stick at the end of his Wolves career, but he was fantastic on and off the pitch. That kind of leadership is special, and Wolves don’t have that.
“Wolves really miss what he brings, and that is something they have to address, whether in January or next summer, hopefully as a Premier League club. They have to address that someone who is an obvious captain and will play every week.”
At Molineux News, we agree that Wolves are missing Coady alongside two other players, and at the moment there is a clear leadership problem on the pitch at Molineux.
The issue was further highlighted against Chelsea after one big Vitor Pereira decision.
Wolves need someone to step up as a leader
Toti Gomes was named as the club’s official captain in the summer, but with the Portuguese defender starting against Chelsea, he did not wear the armband.
Instead, Matt Doherty was given the honour of leading out the Wanderers, but what sort of message does that send to the players and fans?
It is a strange decision to make to give another player the captaincy when the club captain is on the pitch, and it perhaps shows the lack of trust the manager has in his leaders.
If Pereira has decided that Toti was the wrong choice, then someone needs to step into the void that has been left.
Otherwise, the frustrating season so far will only get worse.
