Leeds manager Jesse Marsch has been very complimentary about Wolves and Bruno Lage in his press conference this morning.

The teams face off in the Premier League tomorrow night at Molineux.

Wolves are looking for a third straight win to stay in contention for European football next season.

Wins over Watford and Everton have helped Wanderers get back on the straight and narrow after losses to West Ham United, Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

It’s been a good response, but a tough game awaits against Leeds.

The Whites are scrapping for survival and will be desperate for three points.

Marsch oversaw his first win since replacing Marcelo Bielsa against Norwich City at the weekend, and will be hopefully of another scalp at Molineux.

The American has been speaking about the game today at his pre-match press conference, and really talked up Wolves and their achievements this season under Lage.

He said (via Leeds Live): “Fantastic team with intelligent players. Very well coached. Knew Lage is a good coach, but when I watched their team I was very impressed. Defend well. Good rotations. Clarity in how they want to play. Big challenge for us.

“They will test us in many ways against the ball with pressing, how we control them in the defensive third. They haven’t given away one goal in transition all season and that’s how we want to score.

“(We have to) Try to execute a simple match plan. Succinct in all phases of the game. Defending well and not going behind will be important.”

Wolves now need to live up to the hype following Marsch’s praise

Clearly Marsch has a lot of respect for Wolves and what Lage has done this season.

It sounds very much as though he has been studying Wanderers very closely ahead of the game.

He has built Wolves up ahead of the game, now it’s on the players to deliver.

This has the potential to be a tough match. Leeds are obviously under threat of relegation and will fight hard to pull clear of danger.

But Wolves have the motivation of being back in the hunt for European football. It is still a big ask, but it’s possible.
