Lee Naylor claims £90k-a-week Wolves star has really ‘made a difference’ lately

Molineux legend Lee Naylor has praised Pablo Sarabia for the impact he has made for Wolves in recent matches.

Thompson spoke after the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, with Wolves coming from behind to get a point at Molineux.

It was not a good performance from Wolves, who just didn’t really have an answer as to how to break Forest down.

Arguably players like Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri were really missed, and Tommy Doyle not getting on felt like a strange decision.

One man who was trying his best to pick the lock was Pablo Sarabia, and the Spaniard came in for praise from Naylor for his display and recent impact for Wanderers…

Sarabia was handed his second start in a row by Gary O’Neil against Forest, after enjoying a decent outing against Burnley in midweek.

His start against the Clarets was his first in the league for three months, and he while he did frustrate at times, he did fairly well on the whole and played a key role in the winning goal by Hwang Hee-chan.

Against Forest, Sarabia was one of Wolves’ better players, making four key passes in the game. He looked like being the player most likely to pick the lock.

O’Neil took him off and replaced him with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde on 69 minutes, which was a change that didn’t really have the desired effect.

Speaking about Sarabia, former Molineux full-back Naylor said: “I think Sarabia has done alright, if I’m honest. He’s made a difference in a few of the games. Today, he was the one who unlocked their defence and he made a brilliant pass out to Bueno where he could have got it out of his feet quicker. They were the only two pieces of brilliance today but apart from that, what have we got?”

Sarabia has looked bright across his last two starts

Sarabia has definitely given a good account of himself in the games against Burnley and Forest.

He has made seven key passes in his last 148 minutes for Wolves, which clearly shows that he is someone who makes things happen in the final third.

The £90,000-a-week star’s cutback for Matheus Cunha was superb, and he showed great intelligence to make the run he did.

Certainly while Pedro Neto is out, Wolves need to have Sarabia in the team. The Spaniard can frustrate but ultimately he is a proven creator, as further evidenced by his solid assist numbers at his previous clubs.
