Wolves manager Bruno Lage has commented on the depth of his squad.
Wolves did not sign a senior central defender or central midfielder in the summer, despite targets such as Sven Botman and Renato Sanches being identified.
Lage is doing well with what he has so far but has underlined the importance of doing well now.
He is already wary of the intense winter period and the possible impact of the Africa Cup of Nations on his squad.

At his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Everton, Lage said: “It’s so important that we need to conquer a lot of points now, because the winter will be very hard.
“We have a small squad and maybe we can lose players to CAN [Africa Cup of Nations], and until December, our focus is to win points.
“After that, it’s to try and find players like Hwang [Hee-Chan], like [Francisco] Trincao, to come and to help us to be better.
“The team are in the process to try to play the way we want to play. We are playing in the same system from the past, but we’ve tried to do a different offensive dynamic.”

Reaction
It is fair to say that many Wolves fans were not impressed with the transfer window.
Especially how it ended, with links to Sanches, Botman and others only for Wolves to end up empty handed.
Some Wolves fans on Twitter felt that Lage’s dissatisfaction over the club’s summer business showed in these comments.
Others are worried about how Wolves’ season will pan out if the squad is not bolstered in January.
