Ladislav Krejci sums up how bad it is at Wolves after his return to Molineux

After a short absence through injury, Ladislav Krejci returned to the Wolves lineup to face Man United on Monday night.

One of the rare positives at Wolves this season has been the Czech defender’s emergence as a quality option in a largely poor side.

Krejci missed two games through injury against Aston Villa and Forest, but was back available as Wolves played host to the Red Devils on a night when fan protests dominated proceedings at Molineux.

The performance did little to quell the unrest, with Wolves falling to a 4-1 defeat, looking lost on the pitch. Krejci explained what went wrong in what is really a concerning admission.

This is pure class from Matheus Cunha at full-time on his return to Wolves. Your thoughts?👏

Ladislav Krejci dissects the Man United loss

After the game, Krejci was interviewed for Wolves’ website about the performance.

There were too many errors to count over the 90 minutes, but the concerning part is that it sounds like Rob Edwards prepared them for what was to come.

Krejci says: “All the situations, for me, looked more or less same. We knew before the game that they have the best counters in the Prem.

“But we missed quality on the ball to get in shape and find some positions to attack them and try to have some chances. “

Wolves were disorganised and unprepared for the many transitions Ruben Amorim’s side found joy with. Krejci is right. It was the same issues that led to each of United’s easy attacking moves.

Even when aware of the threat, it doesn’t seem like this Wolves side has any answers.

Krejci speaks on the environment at Molineux

The events before kick-off are all anyone can talk about from Monday night’s action, maybe because the performance offers little more to dissect.

Krejci was asked about the fan reaction, responding: ““I’ve not been here for a lot of time, but when we show something, they support us, they are behind us. It’s hard, but it’s life.

“Sometimes life gives you good opportunities, sometimes bad, and you need to get it out of it, because that’s life.”

Tim Spiers has hit the nail on the head, hasn’t he Wolves fans?

A mature response from a player who likely didn’t anticipate this level of scrutiny and rifts at the club after arriving at Molineux in the summer.

While he has been one of the better performers, Krejci isn’t immune from criticism. The whole team needs to be held to account.

He understands that, concluding: “We need to get out of it somehow. We know now it will be very hard programme, but it’s about us. Every week is the same. So, we need to very quickly step up, everybody, and start to show our quality.”

Next up for Wolves is a mammoth task, travelling to the Emirates on Saturday to take on the league leaders. These words are definitely on the right track, but Wolves need to put them into action.
