On their day, Wolves are capable of beating any team in the Premier League.
Since the club’s return to the top-flight in 2018, supporters have watched the team pull off a number of scalps.
Those big results have tended to become a bit more rare these days as Wolves have struggled. But given past games, supporters always go into games against the top clubs in the Premier League with genuine optimism and almost a bit of expectation.
One team Wolves have had decent success against is Manchester City.
Wanderers famously did the double over City in the 2019/20 season, and Pep Guardiola is always very complimentary about Wolves when the two teams play.
Kyle Walker has also had praise for Wolves in a new documentary City have put out.
Kyle Walker admits Wolves ‘can catch you by surprise’

Wolves have struggled this season so far, having won just one game against Southampton.
But despite the hardships, there is a general acceptance that Wolves are a tad unlucky to be where they currently are.
At times, Wolves have played well. But the team just haven’t been able to play well for long enough.
But Wolves are still a team that other clubs are wary about, and the potential of Wolves hasn’t been lost on Kyle Walker, who made a comment in the new Together: 4-In-A-Row documentary.
The documentary covers City’s 2023/24 title-winning season, and there is a moment where Walker talks after Rodri picks up a red card against Nottingham Forest.
Rodri’s suspension saw him miss the 2-1 result at Molineux. Walker said ahead of that game “To miss Rodri going to Molineux. It was always going to be an even tougher game.
“You can go there and sometimes they can catch you by surprise.”
Wolves need to get their old reputation back
Although there is a feeling for some that Wolves shouldn’t be near the bottom of the table given the players in the squad, it can be argued that people generally don’t feel the same way towards Wanderers as they used to.
Wolves recorded back-to-back seventh-place finishes under Nuno Espirito Santo, and there was genuine fear in other fanbases when their clubs knew they had to play Wanderers.

Wolves were capable of beating any side in the division.
In recent years that fear factor has been lost a little, and Molineux isn’t quite the same fortress as it used to be.
Gary O’Neil is under big pressure to turn things around and hopefully, he can do that.
It’s going to be particularly key for Wolves to improve at home. This season, they’ve won just one game at home, drawing one and losing four. Wolves need to turn Molineux into a feared environment again if they are to pull away from danger this season.
