Wolves head into another demanding Premier League fixture with growing confidence in their performances, and Brentford manager Keith Andrews has praised Wolves’ upturn.

The Old Gold have found greater stability in recent weeks under Rob Edwards, who continues to shape the side in his image.

It may well be too little, too late for Wolves in terms of staying up.

But Wanderers have at least now turned into a side that other managers are wary of.

Wolves take on Brentford on Monday night with both sides looking to build momentum. The build-up to the game has already included discussion about Wolves’ recent form.

Keith Andrews addressed Wolves during his press conference today, and made it clear he respects the work done by Edwards.

Andrews told reporters today (via Brentford official): “They’ve clearly had a frustrating season, and they would’ve had higher aspirations than what they’ve produced.

“Rob has built teams in his relatively young managerial career that have been really good and had promotions, with spirit and fight.

“What you’ve seen in recent weeks is what he’s done before, with other teams.

“They’ve got some talented players, for sure. I’m not particularly surprised that they have been playing really well for a number of weeks now.”

His comments reflect the growing recognition across the league that Wolves now present a tougher challenge.

With back-to-back wins over Aston Villa and Liverpool in the league, Wolves have clearly shown renewed spirit, and will look to make it three on the bounce on Monday.

Wolves vs Brentford all-time record before Monday’s clash

The meeting between Wolves and Brentford carries a long history across English football. The clubs have faced each other repeatedly in league competition across multiple divisions.

Wolves do hold a competitive record against the Bees. But Brentford have also taken important results over the years, which has kept the fixture closely contested.

They’ve faced off 38 times to date, with Wolves winning 17, Brentford winning 15 and there being five draws.

Of course in the reverse fixture, Brentford got the better of Wolves who gave a dismal performance at Molineux early on in Edwards’ tenure, with Keane Lewis-Potter at the double.
