Alex Scott is hot property at the moment – and his Bristol City teammate Kal Naismith has raved over the reported Wolves target.
Scott, 19, has been absolutely thriving for the Robins in the Championship this season.
The versatile midfielder is a regular at Ashton Gate, and has already made 34 appearances across all competitions so far this term.
His technical quality is something that has really got people talking. The starlet is fantastic at carrying the ball and manoeuvring out of tight spots.
He has drawn comparisons with Jack Grealish, and it seems he is likely going to leave Bristol City soon.
CBS journalist Ben Jacobs believes he will ‘inevitably’ go in the summer, saying on The Football Terrace podcast recently: “There have been a ton of scouts that have watched him over the course of many months. Lots of club looking at him.”
Wolves reportedly held talks with City last month about a potential deal for Scott.
But ultimately nothing materialised due to the club’s asking price.
Apparently, City wanted around £25 million Scott.
It will be very interesting to see if he does indeed seal an exit this summer. And Naismith believes he’s actually capable of playing for a top club. He also very much agrees with the Grealish comparisons.
The defender said on the Keeping The Ball On The Ground podcast: “He’s deadly. A few clubs bid for him. (Scott is) a little old-school, box-to-box. Like a (Steven) Gerrard kind. Obviously I don’t want to make that comparison, he’s got a long way to go.
“He’s tall enough, he’s maybe six foot, he can run all day, hard in the tackle, really good on the ball. He’s different class. His past five or six games, he’s been tremendous. I can honestly see him going to a top four or five team in the Prem.
“He reminds me of when Grealish was in the Champ. He lets people get tight to him, and then runs away as if they weren’t even there.”
Wolves will be very lucky to land Alex Scott, as Kal Naismith tips youngster to sign for a top Premier League club
Scott will be at the centre of a transfer scrap this summer, there’s no doubt about that.
He is undoubtedly one of the best young players in the Championship.
Scott plays in a fearless way and has the capacity to look comfortable anywhere in midfield, which is a major part of the attraction with him.
It will be very difficult for Wolves to sign him.
But that said, it’s possible Wanderers could lose Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Matheus Nunes this summer.
So there would seemingly be a decent chance of him coming in and playing regularly. That’s a hugely important thing for him.
Scott may not actually fancy joining one of the top clubs in the Premier League, as the chances of regular game time would be slimmer. It’s a move he could always make later in his career.
