Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui went as far as to say he didn’t recognise his team after the 6-0 defeat to Brighton.
Wanderers crashed to their worst defeat of the season at the Amex Stadium.

Pascal Gross, Deniz Undav and Danny Welbeck all scored braces, with Wolves barely able to string two passes together.
It was a shameful performance.
As good and slick as Brighton were, Wolves mostly just gifted the hosts their goals.
6-0 was actually flattering. It could easily have been double figues.
It was astonishing to see how bad Wolves were, especially in possession. In recent matches, Wolves have knocked the ball around really confidently and played some great stuff.
Today, it was as though they had never played with each before.
And after the game, Lopetegui gave a damning verdict of what he had seen. He said (via BBC Sport live, 29/04, 5:34pm): “Today I don’t recognise my team. That is why we have to look to the next match with the best face, recover with energy and be ready for the fight.

“We have to overcome this moment as a team.
“We are in the middle of the battle. We have worked very hard the last four or five months. We have to fight very hard to achieve our aim.”
The manager will surely be making plenty of changes for the next game against Aston Villa.
Julen Lopetegui verdict after Wolves’ 6-0 defeat to Brighton is damning
To hear a manager say he doesn’t recognise his team says it all.
And he’s right, they did not look like the Wolves of the last few weeks.
Lopetegui should not go without blame for yesterday’s result. The way he set up the team did contribute to Brighton being far superior. That said, the nature of some of the goals was just embarrassing.

Wolves should still be fine in terms of relegation.
But a massive response is needed after that horrendous showing, which was arguably one of the worst all season from any Premier League team.
