A journalist has claimed Wolverhampton Wanderers star Raul Jimenez may not actually feature again this season after all.

According to Fernando Cevallos of beIN Sports Espanol and Unanimo Desportes, the striker needs medical clearance by the start of May to play again.

Should he not be cleared, he will ‘lose the remainder’ of the 2020/21 campaign.

He adds that Jimenez would need the green light in order to play for Mexico this summer.

The 29-year-old is currently with his national team in Cardiff after of the game with Wales on Saturday.

Jimenez will not be featuring, but is stepping up his training with the national team.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Mexico boss Gerardo Martino wanted Jimenez to be a part of the camp so he could interact with the rest of the squad.

It is now four months since the former Benfica star suffered the awful collision with David Luiz at Arsenal, which left him with a fractured skull.

Wolves fans would accept no Jimenez until 2021/22

The words from Nuno Espirito Santo have been positive about Jimenez and his return.

Although seeing him in old gold again in 2020/21 would be fantastic, most Wolves fans would be more than happy to wait and see him come back strong in 2021/22.
