Jose Sa speaks out after Wolves hit with more VAR controversy

Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa has sent a spiky yet defiant message on social media, after more VAR controversy at the weekend.

Wanderers crashed to a sickening 2-1 defeat at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United, with referee Robert Jones awarding a penalty in the dying moments.

Fabio Silva was adjudged to have fouled George Baldock, but replays showed that the Blades man was already going to ground.

Oliver Norwood converted the penalty, leaving Silva absolutely devastated.

It is a tough moment for him, and he will now need the support of the fans to get him through it.

At this point, Wolves fans are entirely fed up with referees and VAR. It is the fourth controversy of the season, and Gary O’Neil suggested after the game that his side could well be six points better off.

And Jose Sa made his feelings clear on social media last night…

Jose Sa sends message on social media after latest VAR decision against Wolves

It is clear that the continued failings of the officials to make the right decisions are getting to the players.

It must be incredibly frustrating to train really well and prepare thoroughly for matches, only to be cost points by something out of their control. And it need not be like this.

£28,000-a-week Wolves goalkeeper Sa expressed his frustrations yesterday. But he was also feeling somewhat defiant. He wrote on social media: “This team deserve RESPECT. We don’t give up and we will come back stronger. Thanks to all fans for the support. ONE PACK.”

Max Kilman joined Sa by sending a defiant message on social media after the game.

Nelson Semedo also expressed his frustrations about the defeat, as did manager Gary O’Neil.

Many Wolves fans are absolutely sick of VAR at this point, and that is understandable. It is stinging the team far too often.

But Wolves also just need to be better. Ideally, Wolves need to be in positions whereby they don’t need to worry about VAR and refereeing decisions.

The performance against Sheffield United on Saturday wasn’t good enough overall.

Had Wolves been a bit more clinical during their more dominant periods in the first-half, we may not be here now talking about another decision that cost Wolves points.
