Jorgen Strand Larsen was forced to publicly apologise for one thing before joining Wolves – he did it anyway

Jorgen Strand Larsen is loving life at Wolves, but it wasn’t long ago that things got very ugly for the striker.

Strand Larsen is the talk of Wolverhampton due to his form of late, finding the back of the net four times in his previous three games.

On each occasion, the Norwegian has been the Old Gold’s match-winner, seeing Wolves edge closer to being mathematically safe from relegation

Vitor Pereira is delighted with Strand Larsen’s progress in his first taste of the Premier League, following his move from Celta Vigo in the summer.

Jorgen Strand Larsen was forced to apologise to Celta Vigo fans

Wolves haven’t missed Matheus Cunha during his suspension, which is mostly down to Strand Larsen’s form.

The 25-year-old is proving himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the top flight, which is a relief considering that he had to prove himself to make his move permanent.

Wolves signed Strand Larsen on an initial loan with an option to buy, a clause that has been triggered to confirm the forward’s stay at Molineux.

It’s a relief that the season has gone well for the player, not only to be able to remain in the Premier League, but to avoid a sour reunion with Celta Vigo.

In March 2024, Strand Larsen landed himself in hot water with the Spanish club as whilst on international duty, the number nine expressed his desire to secure a transfer away.

“A cool summer for me is that there are big clubs that want to buy me. It’s still a long way off, and I know how this works,” he told NRK

Strand Larsen said that he was yet to play for a ‘big club’, which angered those at Celta Vigo, forcing the goalscorer to send a public apology to supporters in Spain.

“I will never disrespect Celta and its fans, who have always treated me with great affection,” Strand Larsen said in a video posted by the club on X.

“I have been happy in Vigo since the moment I arrived, and I hope it continues to be that way. The questions and answers about my future have not been understood well.”

Strand Larsen has passed his Premier League initiation

Strand Larsen finished the season with Celta and all was temporarily forgiven, but after getting his transfer, it’s not thought that the marksman would return to open arms in Spain.

Fortunately, the 25-year-old won’t have to, having passed the Premier League test with flying colours, hitting double figures in his debut season.

Despite the campaign being trialling for Wolves, Strand Larsen has shown that he’s suited to English football, seeing his conversion rate rise by 9% compared to what it was in La Liga.

The striker found an escape route to Wolves and has reached a light at the end of the tunnel, a tunnel that he was confined to due to his eyebrow-raising transfer comments.
