Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare urged to start doing one thing much more for Wolves

Steve Bull has handed some advice to Wolves strikers Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare – and the pair will do well to heed it.

Last weekend, fans got to see Jorgen Strand Larsen and Arokodare playing together from the start for Wolves.

We haven’t seen it very often this season.

But Edwards praised Arokodare after the defeat to Palace, stating that he had worked hard in training and played his way into the starting XI.

One gets the feeling that the Nigerian striker will be getting more involvement under Edwards.

And that means we are likely going to see him and Strand Larsen playing as a partnership.

And that has been a subject in Steve Bull’s latest E&S column, with the Molineux legend making one demand of the pair.

One of Wolves’ biggest problems this season has been a lack of bite in the final third.

That stems from a creativity issue, and simply put Edwards must start getting a tune from his attacking players if the Old Gold are to have a fighting chance of staying up.

Strand Larsen and Arokodare have just one Premier League goal between them so far this term, and Edwards needs to increase their output.

For Bull, the pair both need to adopt a bit more nastiness to the way they play going forwards.

He said in his latest E&S column: “We saw Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare start together in a front two for the first time and I think it could be dangerous going forward.

“They are both big and imposing figures that are difficult to play against, but they need to put themselves about a bit more.

“You have to be nasty, in the right way, and make it difficult for the opposition.

“That could be a good partnership that scores goals if they get it right.”

A partnership with potential

It will be interesting to see just how often Edwards turns to Strand Larsen and Arokodare as a partnership to start games.

They did OK against Palace last weekend, and they clearly have the potential to really unsettle defences with their physicality.

Strand Larsen has struggled up top as a lone striker this season, so a bit of support from Arokodare might just be the way to go. We have seen how Wolves like to get the ball into the box, so having two aerial presences may increase the threat level.

Hopefully, we’ll see both taking the advice Bull has given and they really start to make life uncomfortable for defenders.
