Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Jonny Castro Otto has named the ex-teammate he would most like to see at Molineux.

The currently injured defender is the latest player to feature in an ongoing series on the club’s website called ‘Fantasy Football‘.

It entails 10 hypothetical questions about the beautiful game.

The Spaniard answered things such as ‘If you were referee for a day, which rule would you get rid of?‘ (he’d remove red cards), and ‘If you could play under any captain, who would you pick?‘ (Lionel Messi).

When Jonny was asked which former teammate he’d like to come to Wolves, he gave an interesting answer.

He said: “Iago Aspas, I think. He’s a very good player.”

That is the same Aspas that utterly flopped during his time at Liverpool from 2013 to 2015.

After signing on the watch of Brendan Rodgers, he went on to score just one goal in 13 games for the Reds.

After leaving England though, Aspas has really flourished.

He joined Jonny’s old club Celta Vigo in 2015, and has since scored 116 goals in 227 appearances.

Aspas had a spell with Celta before moving to Liverpool, meaning he now has 166 in 380 games in total for the club.

The player is now 33, meaning a potential transfer back to the Premier League at this point is probably highly unlikely.

Not that Wolves be interested.
