Joao Moutinho has finally addressed Wolves supporters, after he left the club at the end of his contract.
The midfielder departed Molineux officially in June 31, along with Adama Traore and Diego Costa.
Moutinho spent five years at the club.
For many, he is one of, if not the best player to ever pull on the Wolves shirt.
Last season, Moutinho played more of a reduced role.
Certainly after January, when Wolves signed Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes, he saw a lot less game time.
Towards the end of the season, Moutinho barely featured for Wolves.
His final appearance was a once-minute cameo against Aston Villa, after which Wolves became safe from relegation.
He then wasn’t included by Julen Lopetegui in the last three matchday squads.
Lopetegui suggested that he and Jonny didn’t actually attend the final home game of the season against Everton, leading fans to wonder if there had been a falling out.
Moutinho has been silent after his exit from the club – until now..
Joao Moutinho finally sends farewell message after leaving Wolves
Last night, Moutinho finally checked in with Wolves fans.

He moved to send an emotional message via his social media accounts.
He said: “I was very proud to be part of the Wolverhampton family, proud of the five years that I wore this great club shirt, proud to have the opportunity to play the best football in the world, proud on being a Wolf. Now is the time to express my deep gratitude to the club, the staff, the teammates and especially the supporters.
“The unbelievable and amazing fans are those who never let us feel alone, who give us encouragement, strength, support, soul. Thank you so much for these five magical years. I am a Wolf like them, and I will never forget all these great memories.”
Moutinho was an amazing player for Wolves
It was a pleasure to watch Moutinho play for Wolves.
The Portuguese maestro played a huge part in helping Wolves to become an established Premier League outfit following the club’s promotion back to the Premier League.

In his first few years at the club, he was absolutely incredible.
And without doubt, he helped Ruben Neves to become an amazing player at Molineux.
It was probably the right time for him to move on, and Wolves fans will wish him all the best fir his next chapter.
