Wolverhampton Wanderers maestro Joao Moutinho has been pictured back in training at Compton Park.
The club have released new images today of the first-team being put through their paces yesterday ahead of this weekend’s game with Brighton.
Wolves are looking to get back to winning ways after losing badly to Burnley and only drawing with West Bromwich Albion on Monday.
The performance against the Baggies was encouraging though, and Nuno Espirito Santo may wish to field some of the youngsters that impressed against the Seagulls.
But one wonders if the manager will be tempted to throw Moutinho in.
The 34-year-old has missed the last two games after suffering an ankle injury in training.
But the former AS Monaco star is clearly shown participating in full training from the batch of photographs of yesterday’s session, along with his teammates.
That would suggest he has shaken off the issue and could be in contention for the weekend.
Also involved in the session was Willy Boly which is good to see given Nuno’s slightly concerning comments after the West Brom draw.
Stick with the youth
There’s no reason for Nuno to be throwing Moutinho back into the starting XI, especially when he might be lacking a bit of match sharpness.
Owen Otasowie and Vitinha both did very well against Albion and deserve starts against Brighton.
Whether that happens is another matter though – Wolves fans well know how much Nuno loves Moutinho.
If he’s fully recovered by Sunday then it’d be no surprise to see him back starting.
