Joao Gomes sends message that’ll be music to Wolves’ fans ears after heartwarming scenes at Molineux

Wolves secured yet another win in the Premier League on Saturday – and Joao Gomes was in fine fettle once again for the Old Gold.

Wolves were firm favourites to beat Leicester, who are already relegated. And a dominant performance ensued.

Matheus Cunha gave Wolves the lead in the first-half, before the Brazilian turned provider for Jorgen Strand Larsen and Rodrigo Gomes in the second.

Wolves made it look like a training game at times, with Leicester looking totally beleaguered.

Andre impressed Matheus Cunha with his performance in midfield, but Joao Gomes was just as impressive alongside his compatriot.

And Gomes was the subject of some lovely scenes after the full-time whistle

Gomes has undoubtedly been one of Wolves’ best players this season.

Like a lot of players, he has improved immensely under Vitor Pereira.

But arguably, when the team was really struggling under Gary O’Neil, he was one of very few players who was still playing well. Or at least, he could hold his head higher than most others.

He’s now impressing every game at the moment, and Wolves fans absolutely adore the Brazilian.

And after full-time yesterday, Gomes was the subject of some wholesome scenes at Molineux, as he made his way off the pitch and through a few rows of seats to greet his wife and son Pedro.

It was Pedro’s first birthday yesterday, and Gomes wanted to experience a moment with him. He lifted him up in the air several times, as fans around chanted each time he did so.

Joao Gomes sends message Wolves fans will love

After shining against Leicester, Gomes took to social media to send messages on social media.

On Instagram the star dedicated a post to Pedro.

And on X, Gomes made a post that will surely please plenty of Wolves fans. It read: “I feel at home in this place!! Thank you wolves.”

Gomes recently backed up these feelings by signing a new contract at Wolves, which was simply huge for the football club.

Gomes is not short of admirers for what he’s done in English football so far. So for Wolves to tie him down was a major boost, and it essentially eliminates any possibility he will leave this summer.

Simply put, Wolves fans will hope Gomes feels Molineux is home for many years to come.
