Wolves remain bottom of the Premier League table, after losing 2-1 to Liverpool at Molineux in the Premier League.
Wanderers’ poor form continued on Saturday, and fans were left frustrated once again by seeing a performance that just wasn’t quite enough.
Wolves managed to get back level in the game after going 1-0 to Ibrahima Konate’s header.
Rayan Ait-Nouri found an equaliser for Wolves but Gary O’Neil‘s side conceded just moments later from the penalty spot after a foul by Nelson Semedo on Diogo Jota.
Wolves were very passive at times and did not go for the jugular, against an out-of-sorts Liverpool side.
There was dejection at full-time, and Joao Gomes has sent a message to supporters on social media.
Joao Gomes ‘sure’ Wolves will rectify current situation, after latest defeat to Liverpool

Wolves put in a strange performance against Liverpool.
At times, O’Neil’s men were brilliant between the boxes. But the issues were at both ends of the pitch.
Wolves failed to really get at Liverpool, which was summed up really early on when Jean-Ricner Bellegarde played the ball back when he might have tried to beat Trent Alexander-Arnold.
And in the second-half, Wolves faffed around with the ball at the back, despite needing a goal.
Wolves also invited pressure at the back at times by trying to play out.
It was just another highly frustrating performance especially with Liverpool nowhere near their best, but Joao Gomes was defiant on social media last night.
Taking to X, the Brazilian midfielder wrote: “My message to the Wolves fans: thank you very much, you are the best part of us, we will fight with all our strength to get out of this situation.
“And I’m sure we’ll leave, for us but especially for you, thank you for all the support, together we are stronger. Only us for us.”
Wolves must beat Brentford
There was a show of support for O’Neil and the players at full-time yesterday at Molineux.
But things really do need to change quickly, because the situation is certainly worrying, as Gary Neville suggested after yesterday’s game.
It is all about getting points on the board now, because Wolves don’t want to be cut adrift and deal with the psychology that comes with that.
You can see that the players are trying. But arguably, O’Neil has just not been getting things right.
Playing out from the back all the time and not mixing it up, and also using players out of position – such as Gomes operating as a number 10, Mario Lemina moving to centre-back and Jorgen Strand Larsen moving out wide – are certainly questionable decisions.
