Joao Gomes makes big claim: It will only excite Wolves fans further

After playing a massive role in Wolves’ 2-1 victory over Spurs Joao Gomes has made a big claim which will excite fans.

The midfielder netted twice in a sensational display in the capital to overcome Tottenham for the second time this season. It was by far his best performance in a Wolves shirt so far as Joao Gomes ran the show against Spurs for the full 90 minutes.

The result helps put Wolves’ European ambitions back on track after they fell to a surprising 2-0 defeat to Brentford at Molineux last weekend.

The midfielder was the pick of the side and has rightly been praised in the aftermath of the result for his performance. The display may also have a massive impact on Joao Gomes’ international career after it was revealed that the Brazilian manager was watching on.

Joao Gomes has put on multiple great displays so far this season. In the 4-1 victory against Brentford, he was one of the star players as well as the 2-1 win over Man City. However, it is his performance against Spurs that will be talked about for years to come.

After the match, the midfielder spoke to Wolves about the tie and his season so far. The 23-year-old was quick to thank Gary O’Neil as he insists that he will only keep improving.

“I feel like that I can become much better than I’ve ever been,” he told Wolves. “Our coach gives me a lot of freedom for this, to become the player I want to be, and maybe get to the box.

“I believe that everything I’ve been experiencing nowadays has the touch of my coach. He is the one who gives me confidence, lifts me up, on the days when I am not well, and I hope to give back as much as I can.”

It is clear that Joao Gomes is destined to reach the top of football. The midfielder consistently performs in the middle of the park and helps to halt any tempo the opposition looks to put together.

The fact that the Brazil boss was looking on against Spurs is exactly what Joao Gomes deserves. It is only a matter of time until he makes his international debut.

Wolves and O’Neil need to do everything in their power to keep hold of the midfielder for as long as possible as he is the future of the club.
