Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes has reacted to last night’s defeat to Chelsea on social media.
Vitor Pereira’s side were beaten 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, and there was to be no revenge for the 6-2 defeat at Molineux earlier in the season.
Wolves were awful for 35 minutes, regularly rejecting the chance to be more direct in the final third.
It was mostly all Chelsea and midway through the first-half the pressure told when Tosin Adarabioyo converted after being played onside by Matheus Cunha.
Matt Doherty equalised in scrappy fashion just before half-time to give Wolves hope.
But poor defending in the second-half proved costly, as Marc Cucurella and then Noni Madueke scored to win the game for the Blues.
There were some really poor performances last night in Old Gold.
Matheus Cunha enraged Wolves fans against Chelsea for looking disinterested.
Rayan Ait-Nouri was also criticised for his defending against Chelsea, with the Algerian being moved to the right side by Pereira after just 20 minutes.
One man who can hold his head high though is Joao Gomes, who has today reacted to last night’s result.
Joao Gomes reacts as Wolves lose to Chelsea

Gomes was easily Wolves’ best player last night.
The Brazilian was his typical industrious self, and made countless recoveries for the visitors.
You can see that he was up for the game, when the same just cannot be said for some of his teammates.
He’s up for the fight every week, and Wolves fans certainly appreciated his efforts last night.
Gomes didn’t deserve to be on the losing side.
Today, ‘The Pitbull’ has taken to social media to react to last night’s result – and he only had one word to say ‘Faith’.
Joao Gomes is a shining light for Wolves
Gomes has not been as good as he was last season.
But the same can be said for most players at Wolves this term, but at least Gomes’s desire and commitment remains as high as ever.
Gomes has been a firm favourite with the fans ever since he signed from Flamengo in January 2023.
With the way he plays the game, he is an easy player to route for, and his attitude is absolutely exemplary.
He must be so frustrated at the moment. But he absolutely never gives up, and if Wolves had a team of players with his exact mentality, the team would be nowhere near the bottom three.
