Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes had one of his best performances of the season against Crystal Palace.
Gary O’Neil’s side fought hard to come from behind to lead the must-win game however, failed to keep the three points at Molineux.
In a dramatic 2-2 draw, the two struggling sides battled for victory, with Gomes being one of the goal scorers.
The midfielder was combative in midfield and shone when getting the ball upfield, capping off a rounded display with a fantastically well worked goal.

Joao Gomes praised for control against Crystal Palace
Gomes’ performance was applauded, as the Brazilian showcased exactly why Wolves signed him from Flamengo for £15m.
The 23-year-old has a lot in his locker however, being a player in the early days of his career, has a lot to improve.
One area of his game that needs attention is his discipline, which was something that journalist Liam Keen commented on when analysing Gomes’ display against the Eagles.
“He committed zero fouls in the whole game which was incredibly unlike Joao Gomes and the way he plays his game,” Keen said on the Keen & Judah Show.
“His emotion, his personality, the way he carries himself, he is a player who gets stuck in and that shows with 20 yellow cards in 50 Premier League appearances.
“Credit to him, he was able to control that emotion and almost personality while also imposing himself on the opposition. When he can do that, Joao Gomes is at his best.”
Gomes had to tread carefully against Palace as he is one yellow card away from suspension, picking up four already this campaign.
It was a lesson that the 23-year-old certainly learned from on the evening at Molineux, proving to any doubters that he’s more than capable of playing a polished game.
Wolves need Gomes to remain disciplined
The challenge for Gomes is to now avoid a yellow card for the next nine Premier League games to avoid suspension.
As Keen explained, that’s extremely unlikely given how rash the Brazilian can be when diving into challenges in the middle of the park.
It’s a trait that is loved about Gomes but at this point in Wolves’ struggling season, O’Neil needs all the control he can get from his players.
Escaping a suspension would be a miracle for the combative talent however, against Palace, he proved that he can be perfectly effective without the unpleasantries.
