Jhon Arias shares ‘sensational’ Vitor Pereira verdict as he reveals why he’s joining Wolves

Wolves are on the verge of announcing Jhon Arias as their second signing of the summer transfer window.

Wolves reached an agreement to capture Arias from Fluminense last week following several days of uncertainty surrounding the transfer.

Arias has since completed his medical at Wolves and sent an emotional message on Instagram after being spotted at the airport.

The 27-year-old joins from the Brazilian giants with high hopes as he pursues his dream of playing in Europe, with Tim Vickery confident Arias will be a success on English soil.

Ahead of his switch being officially finalised by the club, the diminutive Colombian has spoken of his excitement.

Jhon Arias explains why he’s chosen to join Wolves

Wolves have been prolific with their business in the South American market, seeing the likes of Matheus Cunha, Joao Gomes, and Andre reach superstar status at Molineux.

Of course, Cunha joined Manchester United in June, but Andre and Gomes remain committed to the club, something Arias was keen to point out in his interview.

“Of course you can’t deny that there are great clubs in England, with a lot of power. But I also believe a lot in Wolverhampton,” he told Ge Globo.

“It’s a project that was presented to me, with great players. I don’t even need to talk about André, who you know here from Brazil, or João Gomes, who played for Flamengo, I faced him a lot, I know what a great player he is.

“Only there you can see that there are many South Americans known from Brazilian football.”

Arias even reserved some praise for Wolves manager Vitor Pereira and promised the supporters he will give ‘100%’ for the badge.

“So I believe in the cast they have, in the players they have, and in the coach, who is a guy with a sensational job,” Arias added.

“So I’m calm about what I’m going to face, knowing what they expect from me. I’ll arrive to give 100%, add to everything the club already has.”

Arias and Vitor Pereira are a match made in heaven

Arias is determined to prove he can perform on the Premier League stage, and certainly, the skill set he will bring to Wolves is something Pereira will love.

The fleet-footed winger possesses incredible strength and can hold up the ball under pressure, something the Old Gold require against the world-class teams.

Not only that, but Arias is brilliant at set-pieces, suggesting he can more than replace Cunha and Pablo Sarabia, two players who took them last term.

Most importantly, Arias is known for his ferocious pressing off the ball and ability to put defenders under pressure.

Pereira requires his players to showcase energy and tenacity in regaining possession, which is one reason the Colombian has been signed.
