Jeff Stelling shares what he has started to notice Wolves fans doing

Jeff Stelling has said he is noticing something different about Wolves fans over the last couple of weeks.

Results for the Old Gold have been disappointing, but Wolves’ form has not come as a surprise.

The squad are in a much worse position than they were at this stage last season, and the prospect of relegation grows increasingly likely with each passing week.

Jeff Stelling has been speaking about Wolves’ chances of survival, and the presenter believes Strand Larsen’s injury struggles are a problem for them.

However, he has also given his verdict on what he has seen from the Old Gold’s fanbase.

Jeff Stelling starting to see opinion shift on Vitor Pereira

Vitor Pereira is under pressure; the head coach needs a win to change public perception, based on what Jeff Stelling

Stelling believes that despite the supporters being fully behind Pereira heading into the season, this is no longer the case

Speaking on talkSPORT, Stelling said, “Massively worrying time for Wolves. The fans have always totally been behind Vitor Pereira, but there are just signs that those fans are starting to turn against him.

“They have gone close in the last five minutes against Spurs and Brighton. Three defeats by the odd goal. They don’t score enough goals.”

Stelling’s observation is completely correct. Fans have started to question Vitor Pereira, and the opinion seems to be slowly shifting towards him being the wrong man to save Wolves.

Despite criticism for the board and their ambition in the summer, Pereira is not entirely blameless for the Old Gold’s struggles, but if fans are not behind him fully, that would not be a good omen for the club’s relegation battle.

It is an ominous outlook for the head coach, and if things turn even more toxic around Molineux, the board will be left with an unavoidable decision to make.

Jeff Shi must be aware of Wolves fans’ sentiments

If someone like Jeff Stelling, who is unassociated with the club, has seen fan perception change, then no doubt Jeff Shi has seen it too.

The executive chairman will see the outside noise, and that will give him a big decision to make.

Fosun’s choice to hand Vitor Pereira a new deal is starting to look even more absurd as the weeks go on, and it further highlights their inability to deliver for the supporters.

Jeff Shi has proven himself to be tone-deaf about Wolves’ situation, and no matter what decision he makes about Pereira, it will only add fuel to the fire amid already growing tensions between fans and the board.
